The situation of our hotel is perfect for trips to both glacial lakes (Black Lake 3,5 km and Devil´s Lake 2,5 km, eventually as a tourist ring cca 9 km) or to the biggest watter-fall of Šumava Range Mountain Bílá strž (6 km).

Next close tourist destination is peak of Pancíř Hill and peak of Špičák Hill, in both cases you´ll not go further as 3 km or you can use the funicular railways.

Bike area Špičák offer from spring till autumn 6 great bike routes on high level, which can confirm yearly holded race of World Downhill Cup.

You cannot miss out also another glacial lake Laka, which become owergrown slowly with the swimming islands. From Nová Hůrka village (12 km far away from the hotel) you´ll také the path 6 km throw the very nice nature to this lake.

A very nice day you can have in the animal park Tierpark Ludwigstal (18 km from the hotel), where you are walking and meeting wildebeests, sheeps, wisents, but also wolfs.

Trip to the Ostrý peak, which is situated already in Germany, is better for seasoned tourists. The track leads first from the hotel according to the yellow sign to the Black Lake, then according to the red sign along the watter-fall Bílá Strž till you come to Stateček and from here right according to the blue sign to the peak. Most of year you can buy here also some snack in a mountain shack.

The Poledník peak you can reach in one journey together with lake Prášilské jezero. The start point is a picturesque Prášily village (cca 15 km).

You have to get over not more than 18 km to be at the Lake Grosser Arbersee and the beginning of the railway to the Grosser Arber peak, the highest peak of Šumava Range Mountain.

Castles:

The ruins of Rabí tower house, medieval castle Kašperk in the gold-digger town Kašperské hory, Velhartice and Klenová.

There are also many activities available in Železná Ruda and near neighbourhood in case of inclemency of the wheather or to relax from touristic:

The beer brewery museum in hotel Grádl, Šumava Range Museum in the centre of Železná Ruda, a trip to the bordering railway station Alžbětín/Bayerisch Eisenstein, where you can find also the museum of railway.

The lovers of massage can be pleased in Wellnesscentrum Horizont (1,2 km from the hotel) or by professionals in the Thai Massage Centre in the Špičák Village. Horizont offer also sauna, jacuzzi and swimming pool. Another swimming pool is situated in Zwiesel, the nearest district town in Germany. Further you can visit hear also glass factory with presentation of production and the biggest glass pyramid on the world.

The famous cofectionary Café Charlotte is open daily and offers always fresh desserts. Over heads passing train is a pleasure not only for children. The fairy tale cofectionary in centre of Železná Ruda is also worthy of visit.

For those, which prefer activ holiday in all weathers, is in the offer of the Sport Area Špičák also mountaineering practice wall. You can play also bowling, billiard or darts daily in Železná Ruda.
